What is “AUM” ?

AUM, (OM), is the creative force of the universe, the sanskrit word for the primordial sound, or soul of the universe. It also translates to Amen in Christianity, a universal holy mantra, connecting us with all that is. Simply chanting AUM can give the chanter a deeper sense of interconnectedness with oneself and all things.

A deeper dive into this symbology will reveal the connection between Abigail and A Big AUM, within the circle, which connects us ALL

For the reader that is looking for something deeper, this is for you. How can we see this current moment in time as GIFT, and opportunity to look deeper? The only thing we can really control is our attention, our awareness, and how we perceive the experience of our own life. Each moment is an opportunity for growth and deeper learning. How can you take this moment, and every moment, as a gift for your own growth? Perception is everything. Open yourself in this moment to the gift of presence.

When we live within the present moment, we are beyond any stories about your or my life, we are free of regret (dwelling negatively in the past), nostalgia (dwelling with positive memories of the past), fantasy(dwelling positively in an unknown future possiblity), or anxiety(imagining with worry a negative future). Of course, trauma, or adverse childhood experiences can seriously impair our ability to see the present moment as it is. And so, we inquire deeper, we work to shed behaviors and perceptions that no longer serve us, we practice, we become resilient and brave in the face of fear and pain. And we come back to the practice of presence. It is a practice you can practice at any moment. Expanded awareness itself is the cause of bliss!

Founder Abigail Elizabeth Fischer welcomes and inspires you into deeper connection with your own embodied wisdom and truth, so you can live a fuller, more authentic, and interconnected life. Abigail has performed as an opera singer and chamber musician internationally from Los Angeles Opera, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall to Beijing Music Festival and Teatro di Bolzano, specializing in contemporary opera premieres, Baroque music, and soul-centered art song multi-media creations. Abigail enjoys using this expert level of musical training to create meditative musical programs, write music for breathwork, host mindful listening programs, sound meditations and holistic programs to help others expand their own experience of reality and deeply connect with their own embodied wisdom and truth. Abigail received a BA from Vassar College, MM from Eastman School of Music, sound practitioner training from WOOM Center NYC, is a Vipassana meditation practitioner, deep listener, and student of earth-based and esoteric spirituality.

By many standpoints, you may have considered Abigail Fischer a successful opera singer and chamber musician. But she felt there had to be more. The first clue was in her late 20's when she was onstage singing a new music piece that made her soul contract and feel like she never wanted to sing again. She took a break from singing, and only sang devotional chants for a few months. This was the first of many expansion/contraction events away from the classical music world until covid hit, and she breathed a sigh of relief (besides making the bills). It wasn't that classical music wasn't for her. It was more that she knew there was much more to the power of music than art by specific dead white men and produced by mostly white male producers led us to believe. As classical music begins to welcome more diverse voices into the world, perhaps it will also allow more awareness of the deeper function of sound and music to connect us not only to deeper knowing, releasing us from suffering and pain, but also infuse authentic connection from the art through the industry.

The practice of being present with sound is the practice of loving connection with the universe in every unfolding moment. Abigail first experienced a sound meditation experience two years ago at WOOM, and immediately new this was her soul leveling up. Before then she was creating soul-centered multi-media projects with sonic meditations woven with classical music, such as Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder. Since then the pursuit of non-dual experiences, direct experiences of unity consciousness, and integrating into daily life has helped her share this wisdom with others seeking to suffer less and be liberated by the truth of our nature. Loving self awareness is more powerful than pain or suffering. When we allow ourselves to open to this loving awareness, immersing ourself in the present moment, we can open to our essential nature that is always there, bliss itself.
